Introduced in 1984 and both touring bikes were discontinued after 1984, making the Elite GT a one year only model the Elite GT was a entry level Touring bike, that was below the iconic Pro-Tour. The Elite GT had the same frame geometry than the Pro-Tour and the provisions for the waterbottle cages and the rack mounts, even had the internal wiring for a rear mounted generator. The frame was a little lower tubing level from the Pro-Tour's Champion #2 with it being Tange 900.
