The model which introduced the Centurion brand and best selling model through the Centurions life. It evolved constantly over the years, In the beginning of there was two models the LeMans and the lower end Sport. Now the Lemans was not a exotic Italian or French bike. it did not have Campagnolo components . what it did have was a great price and solid components. it was the Introductory level bikes for alot of people over the years.
By the mid eighties it was a mid range bike in the centurion lineup. with the Accordo, Calvaletto, and Signet bringing in the lower price points. in 1983 it was the Lemans 12 signifying it now had a 6 speeds in the back. it held the 12 for the model year 1984 In 1985 it became the LeMans RS model. And kept its place in the mid range of the Centurion lineup. 1988 Centurion Dropped the RS Prefix and went back to LeMans

Alot of times the color schemes may have been used the year before on the higher models, as example the lemans above with the white to purplesmoke fade paint, although this was available on the 1988 Models, given the Decals, this was a 1989 model. Dont let the colors trick you.
